Tea for Two

What's a gal to do on MLK Jr Day when the schools are closed?  Have a girly afternoon chin-wag over tea and cake while the +1 is sleeping!

Don't get me wrong,  I love my little man but I also love my 'school mornings'.  Ahhh yes, those 4 glorious hours in the morning when little man goes off to toddler school and I get to do whatever my heart desires.  Okay well, sometimes I have errands to run, groceries to buy and appointments to go to; but then there are those occasional free slots on the schedule which are perfect for catching up with a girlfriend over food and drink.

My friend (and talented makeup artist) Diane, stopped by.  For lunch we had guacamole and parma ham sandwiches, an adapted version of a recipe I found on The Londoner blog.

You know I love my dessert...chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese vanilla frosting.

I've unabashedly adopted some traditions from my time in England.  One of them being afternoon tea.  My favorite is a punchy little white tea by Whittard of Chelsea.  Now if you'll excuse me, I have the urge to snarf another cupcake.
