Why do you think spas decorate their waiting spaces, or meditation rooms the way they do? They want you to feel relaxed and peaceful. Speaking of amazing spas, excuse me while I reminisce about this amazing spa in St. Lucia. The entire walk to the entrance was an amazing experience in itself. The walkway to heaven.
The ancient Chinese developed feng shui as a way to reduce their exposure to damaging forces of nature and improve their living and working conditions. I won't go all 'econ teacher from Ferris Bueller' on you. You can read more about the history on Wikipedia. How about I move on to a few things you can do now to make your space happy? Anyone?... Anyone?...
Feng shui can get very complicated and technical. But there are also simple things you can do to improve your home or other space (office, etc) now.
For starters you should make a list (mental or paper) of the places in your home that you're unhappy with. Then make a list of the areas in your life that you are currently unhappy with, or wanting to make changes in. Feng shui focuses on these main areas of life:
- Wealth & Prosperity
- Fame
- Love
- Creation
- Family
- Knowledge
- Career
- Synchronicity
So there's your homework assignment. I'm no feng shui expert. I don't think you need to be in order to make you're home a happier environment.
I really enjoyed the process of mapping my home and enhancing areas within it. More about that later though. I'll leave you with this for now.
