Don't get me wrong, I love Sephora just as much as the next girl, but I can't see myself blogging about mascaras every week. So here's my seasonal go at it. My favorite beauty products going into Fall.
First of all, you should know that I risked poison oak and snakes to get some good foresty shots. And then it started pouring rain on me. The things we do #fortheblog eh? Or really, #fortheshot in my case.

Anywho, back to the fluffy stuff. Here are the goods in all of their pre-rainstorm glory.
// NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer (i.e. CC Cream)
Guys, this is a biggie. For what seems like forever, I've been wearing Benefit's You Rebel tinted moisturizer in lieu of a foundation. Foundations are just to heavy and icky in my opinion. Well, Benefit up and discontinued it without so much as a warning.
So I did what most product obsessed girls would do...I went online and stockpiled up on it before it sold out. Then logic kicked in and I went in search of a good alternative. After much online deliberation, NARS Pure Radiant seemed like a good option for me.
I'm not getting any younger so a CC Cream with added benefits like SPF and the ability to fight free radicals seems like a wise choice these days. And for the cost, it better have those anti-aging superpowers! So far it's living up to the rave reviews.
// Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Highlighting Pen
This was a huge splurge. No matter how great my MAC concealer may be, I still have dark areas under my eyes. A product of fair skin I think. I kept hearing that the YSL Touche Éclat was the holy grail of dark circle correcting.
You're supposed to put it over top of your regular makeup but you can also use it alone. The sales guy at Sephora showed me all sorts of areas you can highlight with it (sides of your nose, eyebrow arches, etc). But let's be honest, most days I don't even shower until midday so face contouring isn't likely to happen.
The darks circles? A definite improvement.
// Benefit They're Real Push Up Eyeliner
The 'cat eye' or 'winged' liner has always been my go to, day to day look. I usually stick to a black brown cheap liner by Revlon but when I was in the market for a black liner I had to check out the Benefit They're Real Liner. I use it mostly for date nights.
The claim is that the fancy rubber tip on this applicator makes it near impossible to screw up the infamously difficult winged liner look. I'd have to agree, it's pretty easy to get a lovely little wing. The only problem is trying to achieve an identical 'wing' with your opposite hand. Still practicing.
// Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller
I've been making a concerted effort to not only spend more time cleaning my skin each day but to take better care of it. Enter the anti-aging products. Which, by the way, can cost an absolute fortune!
They don't have to be expensive to work though. If you haven't checked out my $5 night cream go now...it seriously works miracles on my skin. Back to the under eyes though...I heard that this Garnier roller pen lives up to the claims to reduce bags and puffiness under the eye.
I'll be really honest with you, it was an impulse purchase. I really don't have a lot of puffiness. But after having a few drinks the night before, this thing works wonders in the morning. Highly recommended if you're puffy-prone.
// RoC Retinol Deep Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream
I've got my Vitamin E concoction for hydrating, fighting free radicals and fading spots, but I didn't have anything for the dreaded wrinkles. They call them 'worry lines'. I call them massively huge forehead wrinkles. They are starting to get big guys.
RoC Retinol Correxion is another great product that had rave reviews. I even like their little slogan, "We Keep Our Promises". So far, so good. It smells nice (bonus), it's very light and non-greasy and I really can see a difference. My skin looks smoother. I'm already wondering if it's hydrating enough for winter though.
// MAC Turquatic Perfume
Just thought I'd throw MAC Turquatic in there because it's my fav. I'll be gutted if they ever discontinue it. I can only describe it as light and kind of oceany.
What are you favorites?
