I've been a little MIA the past week. I have a really good reason though...
One of my best, most wonderful friends tied the knot!
As if I needed an additional excuse to go back 'home' to Missouri, it was also Mother's Day weekend. And I so miss my Mom as you could probably tell from my last post.
Miraculously, my parents never seem to get older through my eyes. They are just as cheerful and loving as always.
No rickety Grandparents here. Although Little Man definitely puts them (and me) through their paces. We turn our backs for one second...
We were barely home for a few minutes before kicking off our shoes (or 'shh-shoes' in Little Man speak) and running around in the lushest green grass you've ever seen.
Only taking a break for snack time. Which Little Man spent trying to suss out his cousin.
E couldn't make it on this trip but I had a lovely replacement date. My other best, most wonderful gal-pal. We ditched the kids, the husbands and the Mommy-duties for an afternoon of manicures, chit chat, and wedding festivities.
Finally, a chance to fulfill one of my Pinterest fantasies! The French Ombre Manicure. I whipped out my phone and showed the manicurist this coveted Pin.
Sadly, I ended up with this hot mess instead. Not quite the same.
I think my Mom nailed it (ha!) by labeling them 'Barbie Dream Nails'.
At least my toesies (and new Kate Spade sandals) were up to snuff. I was thrilled to continue my grassy wanderings right up to our seats at the wedding ceremony.
What a venue!
But more importantly, what a bride! She was beyond beautiful.
Maybe I'm getting soppy but I must admit, I shed a little tear as she walked down the aisle.
There is just something so magical about seeing such a wonderful person fulfill one of their dreams right before your very eyes.
What did you get up to this weekend?
